two new semiconductor projects launched by union cabinet under semiconductor mission of India. PM shri Narendra modi approved two new semiconductor projects in gujarat under the india semiconductor mission with an investment of 3936 crore rupees.

the first project will be a mini/micro-LED fabrication unit in dholera and the other one is an OSAT chip packaging facility in surat. these two unit will create 2200 skilled jobs.

these two projects aims to boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing and strenghthen thge position of india in global electronics supply chains.

adding these two india has reached 12 approved semiconductor mission under india semiconductor mission. these projects aims in advancing self-reliance in chip design, production and innovation. it also means to support startups and academic institutions across country.

in december 2021 the india semiconductor mission was officially launched by ministry of electronics and information technology. it was established to develop a sustainable semiconductor and display ecosystem, aiming to make india a global hub for electronics manufacturing.
