Recently, the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MoMA) called a National Conclave on Minorities Welfare to integrate AI into public service delivery. This gathering was held on 14th may, 2026. The theme of this conclave was “Bhagidari Se Bhagyoday” (Prosperity through Participation).
The main objective of this conclave was to chart a roadmap for transforming minority welfare through participative governance and technology-enabled public service delivery for inclusive development.
The Ministry is developing conversational AI bots to improve grievance redressal and the implementation of welfare schemes.
AI will be utilized at scale for the Haj cycle 2027 to ensure a safer and smoother pilgrimage.
A dedicated session was held with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to align skilling initiatives with minority livelihood programmes.
Generation India also participated in this conclave and presented technology-enabled solutions for workforce readiness and employment generation.
EkStep Foundation, Gnani, and Sarvam showcased scalable AI-enabled governance tools for citizen-centric service delivery, beneficiary targeting, and real-time monitoring.
Ministry of Minority Affairs was first Established on January 29, 2006. This ministry was Carved out of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
This ministry Functions as the apex body for the formulation and administration of policies for the six notified minority communities in India (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains).
